Personal & Insurance Information On your first visit to our office a member of our staff will show you around the office to make you comfortable. Then a member of our staff will sit down with you to initiate your paper work. We will review our privacy policy and then will fill out all necessary forms for you by asking you questions about your personal information and your insurance coverage. History & Decision for Care You will be introduced to a doctor who will ask you why you have come and take a detailed health history to identify any additional problems or symptoms. When the doctor is confident that the services that we provide can help you, the doctor will discuss with you what needs to be done and what you could expect having us take care of you. Then you decide if you would like for us to take care of you. Examination & X-rays Using the NUCCA procedure, an examination will be made to determine if your spine is misaligned and measurements of your examination will be recorded. You will be taken for X-rays. We will let you know when all of the X-rays are readable and schedule your first spinal correction. This first visit takes approximately one and one half to two hours. Correction & Treatment Plan On your second visit to our office (usually the afternoon of the same day) the doctor will make a spinal correction, review the X-rays with you and discuss expectations about your relief and recovery. Post X-rays are taken and the doctor will analyze them as soon as they are developed to make sure that your spinal misalignment has been reduced or corrected as much as possible. An additional correction and further X-rays may be made if necessary on the same visit. The second visit takes approximately one and one half to three hours. These two visits will establish you as a spinal care patient at Brooks Spinal Care. Spinal Care - Follow Up Office Visits
Follow up visits to our office to monitor the stability of the initial correction will include spinal examinations and corrections when necessary. If your correction is stable or “holding”, no correction is necessary on that visit. The number of visits for most spines to stabilize is between four and ten visits during the first ninety days. The number of visits to our office depends mostly on the severity of the spinal misalignment and the recovery time necessary for your symptoms and conditions. From time to time the spine may misalign again and need to be corrected again. Once established as a patient in our practice new X-rays are only necessary following a significant injury or if there is a problem with the correction or its stability. Nutritional Support
