I love taking care of people. Seeing the shock in people’s faces after the first correction and hearing them say “wow, that didn’t hurt!” brings joy to me. I take care of my patients like they are members of my own family. Here at Brooks Spinal Care we do everything we can to make your experience worth telling others about.
I was born on August 14th, 1970, and raised in a western suburb of Chicago. I attended Aurora Christian High School where I met my soon (actually later) to be wife Vicki. I lived there for twenty years and it is where I had my first experience with NUCCA. My mother had hurt her back lifting a very heavy object and soon developed sciatica. She tried a traditional chiropractor who actually made the pain worse. She heard of a NUCCA doctor north of Chicago and decided to give it a try. She got instant relief and soon after brought my sister (10 at the time) in for headaches.
I don’t remember, and neither does my mother, why she brought me to see the NUCCA doctor. I was only 15 yrs old at that time and didn’t have any idea what was going on. I do remember my last correction before moving to Georgia. I felt a warm tingling sensation over my body immediately following the correction. It was about this time I began contemplating a career in Chiropractic.
When I moved to Augusta Georgia I started my undergraduate work at Augusta College in 1993. I married my wife Vicki in June of 1996, and graduated in 1997.
I began attending Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa in late 1997 from the recommendation of Dr. Brooks. While attending Palmer I became active in the NUCCA club. My son Nicholas was born November 2000, just a few months before graduation.
Many of you know I have a lot of family who live here in Tulsa. It is actually my cousin who first introduced me to Dr. Brooks. He had been seeing him since he was a small child for allergies. Tulsa has been a second home for me since I have been coming here all my life. When I was about to graduate from Palmer, Dr. Brooks was looking to bring on a few doctors so I jumped at the opportunity.
The day after I graduated from Palmer, I moved my family to Tulsa. We lived with my Grandmother for a few months before finally settling in Claremore. My daughter Kaitlyn was born November 2002, exactly two years apart from Nicholas. Vicki is a retired ELL teacher.
I enjoy playing golf. I grew up across the street from a golf course and have been playing since about 15-16 yrs old. Those of you who are golf fans will recognize the town (Augusta) where I did my undergraduate work. I was fortunate enough to see Tiger Woods play for the first time at the Masters Tournament.
I am car nut. I currently have a 72’ convertible Corvette, and I am a member of the Route 66 Cruisers Club (thanks Holden). My kids argue over who gets a ride first.
